Production Checklist

The minimum operational checklist to review before you rely on an agent for real work.

Use this checklist before you put an agent in front of customers, finance workflows, security processes, or other meaningful operations.

Checklist

  • The business goal is specific and easy to explain.
  • The trigger is intentional and rate-appropriate.
  • Tool access is narrow and justified.
  • Data access is limited to the minimum needed.
  • Step boundaries separate reasoning from side effects.
  • Repeated execution will not create unsafe duplicate effects.
  • The agent has a clear escalation or fallback path.
  • Outputs are structured enough to inspect and audit.
  • Example inputs and failure cases have been tested.
  • Operators know what success, failure, and partial completion look like.
